Abstract

Article Summary

Physico-chemical parameters of groundwater of district Bhagalpur, state Bihar have been measured by taking the samples from well and tube-well in pre- and post-monsoon seasons with a view to examine the ionic environment in groundwater and evaluate their nutritive value as well as effect if any. All the sixteen community development block head quarters were selected as sampling sites. The parameters measured were aerial temperature, water temperature, pH, turbidity, conductivity, total solid, total hardness, chloride, sulphate, nitrate, magnesium and calcium. The result obtained have been discussed with respect to Indian Standard Specification for Drinking Water IS-10500-1983 as well as with the other foreign standards.
