Abstract

Article Summary

In the presence of aqueous NaOH, 2-Acetylthiophene condenses with various aromatic aldehydes in ethanol to produce 1-(2’thienyl)-3-(substituted phenyl)-2-propen-1-one(Ia-e), which then combines with hydroxylamine hydrochloride and aqueous KOH in the presence of ethanol to produce 3-(2'-thienyl)-5-(sub (IIa-e). Additionally, DMSO was used to dissolve 3-(2'-thienyl)-5-(substituted phenyl)-2-isoxazoline (IIa-e). Iodine was added to this catalytic quantity. cooled and water-diluted. To obtain 3-(2'-thienyl)-5-(substituted phenyl)-isoxazole (II’a-e), the material was thusly separated and then washed with 20% sodium thiosulphate. Analytical, spectroscopic, and melting point studies were used to characterise and clarify the structure of the sample.
